Okay, this isn't really my recipe but doesn't Megan's Mudslide sound so much better? We had some bummer news on the boat. The owners have decided to take the boat back to Florida instead of continuing up the East Coast. We have also had some repair issues with the boat and so we are headed back to the "yard" in Ft. Lauderdale, FL to get it repaired. In the mean time, we were in Baltimore, MD for a few days and I was able to have my Aunt Donna and Mom come and visit me on the boat. The first night they arrived we went and rode the water taxi through the harbor so they could get several views of the boat from the water.   We had a wonderful dinner in Little Italy and headed over in the water taxi to
Fells Point which is a really cute historic part of Baltimore. We went because we of course had to have an after dinner drink. In case you didn't see the news, we were in a HEAT WAVE. My Aunt Donna and Mom's typical after dinner drink of choice is an Irish coffee. We sat outside to people watch and take in the view and hot coffee didn't seem to fit the mood. The bar had a mudslide and we were all in.
You can see it doesn't say Megan but don't worry about that. This is the perfect summer dessert drink. In case it is not clear above, here are the ingredients:
Megan's Mudslide
Vanilla Ice Cream
Irish Cream
Vodka (I would do Vanilla Vodka if given a choice)
Kahlua or a similar Coffee Liquor
Put in a blender and enjoy. I would probably through in a few ice cubes to keep it nice and cold. If you want to be fancy, don't forget to swirl chocolate in the glass!

ReplyDeleteHaha! I partied in Fells Point almost 10 years ago. Baltimore is such a cool town! I love the dessert-drink and the pic of you three lovely ladies.
ReplyDeleteSounds fun! That drink sounds like my kind of dessert! Really enjoy how each of you approach food & drink with a different story. It's fun to read!
