I melted the cheese in the oven on the rolls |
We were docked right on the main drag and because people like to gawk at beautiful boats (and crew members) we had a huge crowd observing us while we ate. I really wanted to go in for sandwich #2, but too many people were watching and taking pictures. I know documentation of me eating this meal will end up in a few scrapbooks!
I followed the recipe pretty closely with just a few modifications. I made the meatballs using ground chicken and since we were in the south served cold beer and red beans and rice on the side. My best addition was a jalapeno cilantro sauce. In fact, it was fantastic! In case you didn't pick up on it before, I am a sauce whore. Everything is better with sauce! I mixed sour cream, cilantro, lime and jarred jalapeno in a food processor. It was awesome, wish I could jar and sell the stuff! We had the leftover sauce with our breakfast tacos the following morning.

I wish you would have written your review first so I could have gotten in on that sauce! Oh well, next time I will have your secret sauce with my meatballs! Love your boat update and I'm jealous of the galley with TWO ovens! ~ sounds much nicer than my home kitchen!
ReplyDeleteCan you make these for me and serve me up a yacht on the side? You are my favorite sauce whore; I'm totally with you on your love of all things saucy.
ReplyDeleteMy mom packed the ingredients to make your secret sauce when we're in Alaska!
